Text Box:                               EXTREME INDOOR SPORTS          HOW TO HANDBOOK     2007-2008    To Our Wonderful EXTREME Parents;                      October 1, 1993—14 years ago—is when Southern Illinois Gymnastics Academy opened its doors and had its tiny beginning on Court St.  Now, we are only a stone’s throw away from where it all started.  We have a beautiful 12,000 sq. ft. facility that not only features Gymnastics, Cheerleading & Tumbling Classes, Competitive Girls and Boys Gymnastics Teams, Competitive cheerleading All Star Squads, but also Slamball and the coolest indoor Extreme Bounce & Party Center ever.  There is much emotion and much to say but nothing more important than thanking you for the trust you place in us every day to teach and mentor your children.  We are ever aware of the magnitude of this responsibility and we pledge our best effort.  What does ‘best effort’ mean?  Probably the best way to explain it is, we want for your children exactly the same thing we want for our own children.    With warmest regards,   Scott Belanger Owner PLEASE READ & AVOID GETTING CLOSED OUT OF CLASS                Over the years, no operating procedure has received more careful thought than has our registration procedure you are about to read about.  Thank you for taking the time to read this document, as your understanding and cooperation is necessary in order for us to keep our class size contained.  The Extreme Indoor Sports procedure is very much like a UNIVERSITY tuition procedure where the responsibility is on the INDIVIDUAL to pay by a date in order to maintain priority.  We do this for one reason alone...the kids!   SEVEN TERMS PER YEAR………………………………………..                Terms are 7 weeks in length.  We divide the year into seven terms.  It is important to understand, the benefits of our programs are realized over the long haul.  Your tuition dollars pay for the emotional, social and physical education that your child receives  Absences & Make-ups   TUITION PAYS FOR YOUR CHILD’S SPOT IN YOUR CHILD’S CLASS.  However, as a courtesy, EXTREME desires to offer make-ups.   NOTE that our make-up policy is already factored into that program’s tuition amount.  In other words, to establish a more liberal make-up policy would necessarily raise the costs (staffing, etc.) which would necessarily be reflected in higher tuition.   We view make-ups as a privilege, not a right.  EXTREME reserves the right to refuse to offer a make-up if we feel it will degrade the experience of those children who have registered for and paid for that class.   HAZARDOUS WEATHER POLICY.  In the event that EXTREME management decides that the weather will not permit safe driving conditions, the gym, will be closed immediately.  Due to the sheer number of students and limited space available, we will Not be able to offer students make-up classes.  Therefore, all students enrolled in a cancelled class will be given a free open gym pass at their following class date.  In the event of a closing, management will notify Zimmer Radio Group, Clear Channel, and WSIU Radio to broadcast the closing. Text Box: Student Status   NEW STUDENTS………………………………………………………..              FULL PAYMENT IS REQUIRED WITH REGISTRATION.   Be sure to register as soon as you have       identified your class choice.   CURRENT STUDENTS:  to keep your class spot……………………..                You must PAY TUITION BEFORE THE PRIORITY DUE DATE to guarantee your class spot.  Also,       CLASS CHANGE REQUESTS should be made BEFORE THE  PRIORITY DUE DATE to maintain priority  over New Students.               We’ll  send home a computer generated reminder but it remains YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to        know and honor the Priority Due Date throughout the year.  We are aware that rigid dead  lines may seem   harsh; however, the alternative to rigid deadlines is overbooked classes, not an acceptable alternative.  If you  are concerned about forgetting the Priority Due Date, please ask our front office about our Multiple-Session Payment Option.     Joining, Dropping, Changing Classes Mid-Term   JOINING a class after the term commences……………………………                No problem, as long as there is a vacancy.  Tuition will be prorated relative to your start date.   CHANGING classes mid-term…………………………………………..                We will gladly accommodate class change requests, assuming there is a vacancy in your desired class.   DROPPING a class; missing classes…………………………………….                There are no refunds or credits for dropping a class.  ONCE A TERM HAS COMMENCED YOU ARE IN              CLASS FOR THE ENTIRE TERM, regardless of attendance, except for ‘MEDICAL REASONS  for dropping              a class’ (see below).   MEDICAL REASONS for dropping a class……………………………                For medical situations validated by a written acknowledgement from a licensed medical practitioner you will              be granted a credit prorated from THE DATE WE RECEIVE THE written acknowledgement.  (A retroactive              request for medical credit cannot be granted, as it eliminates our opportunity to fill the vacated class spot).   MULTIPLE-TERM PAYMENT OPTION…………………………….                Concerned about forgetting the Priority Due Date?  No problem;  simply pay for multiple terms in advance              and LOCK-IN you priority status.  In the event your personal schedule changes and you cannot fulfill your              obligation to attend future terms for which you have paid, EXTREME will, of course, refund all tuition              you have paid toward future terms.   $15 ANNUAL STUDENT REGISTRATION FEE………………………………….                This defrays administrative & insurance costs.  Each student will pay the $15 registration fee when they              register for the first time, then will be charged a registration fee annually on their original registration              anniversary date.  However, there is a $35.00 maximum registration fee per family per year.   FAMILY DISCOUNT!…………………………………………………..                At EXTREME, your 2nd child receives 10% Off tuition; your 3rd child receives 25% Off and your 4th              child (if your like me and have a whole car load), receives 50% Off.  Discounts are always given on the              lowest price tuition.
